I enjoy breakfast now, so today what do I eat? Well, it is winter, so I find myself eating warmer foods like oatmeal and hot Grape-Nuts. I try new ideas with both though, with oatmeal I've used sugar free canned apples and some cinnamon, or just some diet/sugar free maple syrup. Now, the maple syrup is great, wow, I don't know. I just have some tea with it and sit looking at the beautiful snow and I feel like I just came in from the snow at a lodge, sitting by the fire with some coco or something, feeling just so comfortable. I also like Special K waffles or whole wheat waffles with syrup.
OK, back to reality. Grape-Nuts, I really like them hot with milk, and I add cinnamon and a little sugar substitute. As the weather gets nicer I will probably go back to my yogurt mixed with cheerios, or cold Grape-Nuts, or waffles with fresh unheated fruit and berries. If speed is an issue some wheat toast, or a wheat bagel with a bit of peanut butter, and maybe an apple. I am also one who, if in the mood, will (OK, this might freak folks out, but) just warm some left overs from dinner the night before regardless of what it is, fried chicken, pot roast, spaghetti and meatballs, whatever.
Like I said, eating breakfast is important, even more so for me today now that I have diabetes something that I never dreamed I would need to deal with in my life.
Eating breakfast helps with energy for your day, it helps keep everything balanced, helps you think, and helps with a stable weight, and with weight loss. Do you skip or eat breakfast?
